Customer Requirements
  • We were approached to design, implement and manage a spare parts management solution, which incorporated:-
    • sourcing spare parts
    • performing a fulfilment service into their repair centre in the UK.
  • They wanted to:
    • incorporate a demand planning and forecasting solution to enable them to utilise all available information to forecast which parts to hold on the shelf and which parts in order, to spot-buy from the open market.
    • avoid the expense of obsolete and devaluing inventory by continually selling excess inventory (as determined by the forecasting processes) back onto the open market through broker channels.

Our Solution
  • We designed the solution and agreed on the underpinning commercial framework.
  • We collated a primary network of parts suppliers, in accordance with specialisations i.e. specific product types and brands. For generic parts, we utilised specialist suppliers and negotiated preferential pricing. Where possible, replacement products were to be used to minimise product cost.
  • We configured a number of different modules of our Matrix applications suite (to effectively manage end to end service).
Outcome
  • Our Client was able to quickly transfer operations to the UK and to meet the ramp-up plan imposed on them by their Client.
  • We implemented the necessary configuration changes to Matrix in order to provide the end to end service and the necessary visibility and alerts, to ensure that parts were supplied according to the Clients requirements.
