Inbound Logistics Case Studies
Case Studies by Service

Having been awarded a major contract to supply bottled mineral water to a blue-chip supermarket chain, our client approached us.
Services Used by this Client
  • Inbound Logistics
  • Order Pick, Assembly and Packing
Customer Requirements
  • Due to the location of the bottling plant, a local warehouse facility was required to receive and store the water according to fluctuating inventory levels (driven by seasonality and operating requirements).
Our Solution
  • Our Telford warehouse was ideally situated.
  • Warehouse areas were organised to accommodate the initial stock in-feed, pending start-up of the deliveries (in order to populate their warehouse and retail locations).
  • By working together, water is delivered in full truck loads (FTL) and stored in accordance with date code and batch number (with strict quarantine rules for initial pallets of new batches). Multiple daily orders are placed and using our integrated systems we are able to ensure maximum efficiencies. Our flexible approach accommodates optimum vehicle scheduling and back loading.
Outcome
  • An extremely successful implementation. We handled 1,000 pallets over 2 weeks, all were shipped on time and we achieved 99%+ accuracy on the quarterly, full stock stakes.
